MEBT/MEBO
Anti-Infection
Infection is the main reason of death in burns
patients, especially extensive burns patients.
It is also one of the four technical difficulties
in traditional burns therapy.
MEBT takes advantage of non-bactericidal and
drainage method to achieve the goal of anti-infection.
MEBT/MEBO attains its anti-infection mechanism
via the following procedures:
First,
it controls infection by maintaining smooth drainage on
wounds.
This is achieved
by the self drainage effect of MEBO on wounds; redressing every 4 to 6
hours, immediate removal and clean of liquefied necrotic tissues in
deep wounds; and the immediate application of 'Ploughing Method',
'Thinning method in necrotic tissues' to remove necrotic tissues in
time.
At the same
time, viable tissues were not damaged, thus decrease the absorption of
necrotic tissues and toxins and reduce the occurrence of
sepsis.
This is the core
and one of the main measures to ensure MEBT could effectively control
infection.
Second,
the anti-infection mechanism is achieved by controlling bacteria in a
bio-control method.
The laboratory
research and clinical application revealed that in the
micro-environment formed by MEBO, non-genetic heteromorphosis could
occur in bacteria, the metabolism and reproduction rate slows down, the
amount decreased, thus the bacteria toxicity decreased.
It could also
prevent the invasion of other bacteria. This bacteria bio-control
method, which decreases the proportion of bacteria tissue and normal
tissue, is also a basic principle for MEBT to achieve anti-infection
effect.
Third,
a great amount of lipid ingredients in MEBO provide the raw material
and energy source for skin regeneration, especially the synthesis of
cell membrane.
These
ingredients not only save local dying cells, but also provide raw
material and energy for proliferation of skin stem cells and local
activities of immunological cells after they were absorbed into
blood.
The recovery of
dying cells and regenerated new cells could form a tissue barrier,
prevent the invasion of microbes and swallow necrotic tissues and
bacteria.
Forth,
the pharmaceutical ingredient in MEBO, β-sitosterol,
could exert anti-inflammation effect like glucocorticoid after being
absorbed into blood.
Therefore
decrease the occurrence rate of SIRS and increase the body's
non-specific immunity.
The anti-infection effect of MEBT/MEBO only means
omit the necessity of applying antibiotics locally, it does not mean to
get rid of the principle of applying antibiotics systemically.
Systemic
antibiotics application should be carried out according
to different clinical conditions while the principle of early, powerful
and short-term application is emphasized.
